2783904, In 20 years..shiiiiiiiiit.. 10 years, will Little Brother be remembered?

I was talking about this with a friend over the weekend... Sure, they've influenced some of these up and coming acts... But will they be remembered?? Personally, there still isn't much out right now that is fuckin with Little Brother's first 2 albums... Even GetBack got some tracks...

But a few years down the road, will people look back and say that group was one of the best hip hop duo's not only in the 00's, but ever... Because they really are...
2783906, c'mon

>Because they really are...
2783910, Never said they were the best duo...
Posted by Crash85, Mon Mar-04-13 08:15 PM
But they're up there.. in my opinion....
2783913, Top 5? Top 10? Top 15?
Posted by DolphinTeef, Mon Mar-04-13 08:18 PM
which one
2783914, Top 10 for me...
Posted by Crash85, Mon Mar-04-13 08:19 PM
But I know for many here it would probably be top 15...

edit: Maybe top 5 with them being #5
2783921, Top 5 duo??

Really? I'm going to need to see a list.

2783912, convince myself of what??
Posted by Crash85, Mon Mar-04-13 08:17 PM
Personally, I don't think they'll be remembered...

I'd like them to.... I'd also like them to get back together, but neither one will probably happen...

I'm just wondering what others here think...
2784022, you have no place to challenge anybody's opinon on music

sounds like he's asking a question to me, go sit down nigga
2783916, I mean, if Onyx & Group Home are remembered...
Posted by rhymesandammo, Mon Mar-04-13 08:38 PM
...I don't see why not. They just won't be canonized the way Tribe & De La were, imo.

CSAH and chittlin' circuit 1.5 are mandatory plays, atleast once a month (and never just once, because they're rewind worthy like a mofo)

i know you said LB, but whatever tho.

that and 'minstrel show' pretty much changed my life (i skip a few joins on MS tho, sometimes)

CSAH is classic to me, and classic = timeless, so....

They are in my rotation like they never broke up. Thanks for reminding me :(

If you are out there Tiggalo, I know we still get to hear you in FE and the occasional solo project, but dammit, we do miss you, Pooh and 9th together.

2783963, yep they started right when "Free music" was really started

so they got to get s real far and away fanbase.

Folks still want a reunion and they'll still have fans. They made a pretty big dent for that era to the heads and more.

They were great. I saw them in a fucking basement in Berkeley and they blew me the fuck away. Saw them almost every time in SF since....For the time period, they were great. I don't think they're in the same league as Tribe, De La, etc. though...different time. Compared to them, they're kinda second string. Don't get me wrong....I love LB and bought everything they ever did....

2784004, Fantastic group with an incredible run

They'll def be remembered by me.

Matter fact, here's the oral history I wrote about them for this site back when they announced their breakup. Check it out if you haven't already:

2784007, by anyone who was there and still cares about nostalgia
Posted by atruhead, Tue Mar-05-13 01:54 AM
i still remember outstanding acts from the 90's because i care about music like that

if LB was part of a phase to some folks, they wont be remembered. but actual fans will, of course
2784030, I forgot about them until seeing this thread.

But I don't think they really reached a large enough audience for people to be talking about them in 10 Years. Unless they release another album, I really don't think their name will be an anyone's lips other than people who are big fans now.

They all still make music individually, so you never know 9th and Phonte might still get the recognition that they never could achieve as little brother.
