Pretty good. It's nice to hear some EPA shit again.

The vocal stylings are prolly a little more closely related to Sikwidit/Thizz tho. One might hear a Danny Brown influence; however DBrown has made no secret oh how much of a fan he is of bay area rap.
2765588, It's cool shit. His logo says Bedstuy / EPA, guess he's bicoastal?

Hard for California dudes to blow up over here as you can imagine

I'm a fan of all Blowed shit I guess I can see similarities but he comes across on Brooklyn sounding more like El da sensei or Tame One at the gate.

I could only really hear Perico (I hate when people spell it Pedico) and Out the Pound and the first part of Brooklyn. I liked Out the Pound the best.

Overall I dig the sensibilities
2765602, yeh he moved out to new york

He's good, not great. I don't know what you find in him that you don't find in many other new rappers that you claim bore you, but to each his own.

He blends the sound design of swag rap with the traditional formalism of rappity rap very well. In other words he raps his ass off over forward thinking lo-fi while incorporating the kind of numbing repeated simple choruses that are more about feeling than actually meaning anything. Yet also his rappity rap is a bit suspect when he links 4-8 bars together rhyming/repeating words like nigga or boy. Overall he's got skill and talent to be appreciated.

I can see why you link Hefna to Blowed, but I think Zeroh is the more appropriate descendant / heir to that school of rhymes: not to add I'd bet money Zeroh has actually heard and listened to Good Life/Blowed rappers.

Also thanks for posting those old "classics". When I hear them now, it's so strange that of that rappity rap shit from 94-97, not only where they the best at it, but possessed the most heart and soul. I wasn't the biggest fan of that scene when it was poppin, but now I'll play those over a fondle 'em or rawkus 12.

Ellay Khule's style is so dope. He has the presence of a gang banger not in the slightest concerned with talking about guns, bitches and sets. It's agile and precise, while being aggressive. He's like if Schoolboy Q and Ab Soul where one rapper.

Which brings me to Kendrick and the whole Westcoast multis / chopping style. I hate that people like WC and Myka 9 get forgotten when speaking of Kendricks influences and predecessors. But it's the reason I love the Kid so damn much. He streamlined that technical style of Myka to be more relatable and replaced west coast gangster rappers like WC tendencies for tough guy posturing with vulnerability. He's one of my 3 favorites for those reasons. But like I said to each his own

Thanks for sharing
2766103, Kendrick is definitely a descendent

i just think when he writes songs its much more 3000 and kanye

but when he wants he can drop a look out for detox and rigamortis

I played Brooklyn first and wasn't feeling it because in essence it sounded like what it was, an outsider trying to do some bk shit. Then I read your reply to someone up there on the rationale and went to the other joints. He's definitely got that blowdian about him and I like that. It's an interesting comparison to Kendrick who I think gets that type of nod mainly because he double times (remember tone's i hate double time rap post). But IMO that's where Kendrick Blowed comparison ends. This cat has it a bit more. The cube tribute is hillarious and insightful in the whole scheme of things regarding influences and such.
