smh
2759568, I love it

*shrugs*
2759576, It's perfect: a genre tag as self-referencing, obscure, transitory,
Posted by AFKAP_of_Darkness, Thu Nov-29-12 10:05 AM
facile, and mixing mild self-congratulation with mild self-loathing as the music itself.
2759586, I dunno, I was assuming the PB was 'peanut butter'
Posted by lonesome_d, Thu Nov-29-12 10:22 AM
but that's probably due to many years of exposure to Dr. Claw online.

Peanut Butter RnB didn't strike me as too bad itself, though it led me to assume it was talking about a different kind of RnB than it's actually referencing.
2759587, And that's part of the obscure self-reference I mentioned.

It's so hip that you gotta kinda be an insider to know what it even means... and why.
2759598, smh.

2759628, the PBR makes me think of hipsters.
Posted by SoWhat, Thu Nov-29-12 12:36 PM
like they're calling it R&B for and/or by the hipster set. which fits.

i also like Claw's take on it w/the peanut butter thing. lol
2759644, Every time I see it written I think they're calling it 'PB&J'
Posted by Dr Claw, Thu Nov-29-12 12:49 PM
instead of "PBR"... LOL

I don't think it's ALL PB&J, but some of the actual singers of said "PBR&B" (lol @ that term BTW) do have PB&J tendencies...whether it be in the voice, or the lyrics (I still can't believe Frank Ocean actually sang "Majin Buu"; that's something rappers would do)
