but if people are really comparing the two as similar artists, i think that's a knock to both.

a better comparison might be like Jay is to Nas. Jay is accomplished and talented in his own right, but more of a pop star than Nas is.

Nas' high points artistically (Illmatic, It Was Written) might be more artistically pleasing than Jay's best work tho (Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint).

Kendrick is a better artist in the emotional / craftsperson sense of the term, but Drake has a better ear for pop music.

i don't think Kendrick really wants Drake numbers because he would have to water his sound down and compromise his style. but while Drake doesn't have the technical skill to do what K.Dot does, there is something to making anything that a million people want to listen to.
