How can Beans belong ina group where that tier none of these dudes are in the same space or career wise, Cam had a better career and impact than kiss could ever dream of with Dipset Cam has 3 hip hop classics on under his belt(SDE, Purple Haze, DIP Immunity) changed the mixtape game with G-unit and had very good commercial success and hits while still staying true to himself.

Az was a flash in a pan who rode of the Nas illmatic wave and Kiss probably feels like he never touched the game like he should have.
2753865, lol Kiss doesn't feel like that at all

the B. Coming and The Reason are better albums than what you'd get out of that lot though.

unfortunately you have POO POO bookending that stuff
2753961, The B. Coming is very very solid indeed

2753629, He's in the same league as Kiss and Styles P, so no

2753672, Note for the poll: I'm not asking if he *is* an all-time great.
Posted by cidolfas, Sat Nov-03-12 08:43 AM
I'm asking if he had the capability to be one of the all-time greats, instead of just second string like Kiss, etc.
2753673, Beans is def one those "HE MY FAVORITE RAPPER TYPE"
Posted by Menphyel7, Sat Nov-03-12 08:46 AM
like I heard an ass of people say that and I cant argue...I mean you know he not the "best" but he is just your favorite the way he speaks and puts words together is ill.

They might not be that amazing on paper but he knows how to make em sound dope. He does have a special quality wit that.
2753705, great way of describing it

Freeway is one of those for me. Might be a Philly thing

>Freeway is one of those for me. Might be a Philly thing

..except, I think Guilty is one of those, too.
2753710, sticking to your point

I'll say yes. His problem was he lacked the discipline.
2753731, This. Tons of talent, little focus down the stretch ^^

In the late 90s, Beans was everywhere. On the heels of his Cosmic Kev tape, and "Vol. 2" feature - the anticipation for his debut was through the roof. The thought at the time was that with the right moves, with his flow, he could have been the next BIG. While solid, "The Truth" didn't hit quite like it could have and even with the State Prop situation, Beans could never get out of Jay's shadow or stay out of his own way.
2753784, i think he did. really he had the total package and was the best in
Posted by southphillyman, Sun Nov-04-12 01:14 AM
the rocafella camp for a lil bit
he has a good rap voice
his lyrics were good, he could do the whole gangsta thing well then on the same album get introspective and show emotion

the only thing i didn't like about him was that whole saying the same word/sound thing he started doing
can't think of an example off top
but meek mill did it on his new album "oh that's corny right/oh that's kony like"
think it's lazy
2753799, I swear I was just thinking about this last night.

Beans could paint an image as good as anybody.

That rumoured super group with Jay and Face would have been a dream come true. It's a shame that Beans washed his career down the toilet.
2753843, Who is this Sigel Man? What does he have in songs?
Posted by JeffyWiggerMan, Sun Nov-04-12 11:57 AM
I've heard the name but never the things he's done. Can you guys help? Thanks.
2753851, he'd been better of in a group... solo kinda lackluster..
Posted by My_SP1200_Broken_Again, Sun Nov-04-12 12:43 PM
...Him and Freeway should have done a few albums together ...I guess Hov didnt see it that way
2753977, Two of the skillsets have to be vision and hustle so no.
Posted by SP1200, Mon Nov-05-12 09:37 AM
Besides mic skill.
2754077, You hold that vision and hustle rule against Golden Age MCs?
