2747168, What Can You Tell Me About Don Trip?
Posted by Mash_Comp, Tue Oct-09-12 03:04 PM
So I stumbled across Memphis (I believe he's from there) MC Don Trip after his feature on Chuuwee's "Crown Don't Make Your King"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPSRL3yazIU

And I've been trying to figure out what to rock next from him. I know he doesn't rock on more underground fare like the one above but he's got one of the best rap flows I done heard in a minute. Anyone up on it?

i first heard him on sir juicinald j's "problem" off the 2nd rubba band tape. great verse, made me want to hear more

heard the stepbrothers tape with starlito, more great verses, great storytelling, great bragging and shit talking

i believe the most high profile thing he's done is the geurilla tape with dj drama. that's good too. quality suffers a bit because of the beats. verses are still top-notch

i think his greatest asset as an mc is the clarity with which he spits. i think he has a very specific vision for his verses (or at least a talent for delivering his vision very clearly) and that shines through in the way that there is no misunderstanding him. it's a weird thing to point out i guess but in these days of "#reference" and an almost free-association structure to a lot of rapper's lyrics, don trip is pretty singular in his overtness and that's saying something. and that's not to say his lyrics are simple or plain. he's clever and subtle when he wants to be

also i work with a guy who worked with don's mom and subsequently hung out with him a few times. he has nothing but nice things to say about don personally
2747696, I love that track "Lawyer". Will be the theme for my law office.
