I don't see this being as surprisingly good as OBFCL2

I hope it is though
This news is sending me into some old Reggie albums though

2743206, i'd actually prefer sticking with reissues
Posted by cbk, Mon Sep-24-12 04:55 PM
rather than making these "sequel" albums.

i like the creative packaging and enhanced liner notes in those commemorative reissues, like that purple tape one last week.

but who knows, muddy waters 2 may be dope.
2743255, I know I'm not the only one to remember....
Posted by The Wordsmith, Mon Sep-24-12 07:46 PM
...red mentioning this sequel a while back and how he mentioned that he was going to use his old style of rhyming on it. It was supposed to be for cats that love to hear his 90s style.

Since 1976
2743272, that was in that Combat Jack Show interview

it doesnt work like that

“The other dude after me didn’t help my case. It was just like…crazy nigga factory going on.”
Dre makes no apologies for his own eccentricities. “I was young, and searching, trying to find myself,” he says. “Never did.”-- Andre B
2743335, Word up. I remember that too.

I'm def' lookin' forward to this.
2743340, his style not changing up since the 90's is the problem tho ain't it
Posted by Menphyel7, Tue Sep-25-12 12:42 AM

r u serious? redman's lyrics in the 90s is better than 99% of these new niggas out right now, no contest. how MUCH do you want him to change his style up? and in what ways would you like to change? dope lyrics are dope lyrics, b, regardless of era. especially when it comes to somebody who was so ahead of his time. that nigga is your favorite rapper's favorite rapper and has been since forever, there's a reason for that. you want him to rap about different shit? when he DID try and change his style up and 'adapt with the times' the shit was straight trash, hella disappointing. i was offended at that shit. niggas just need to stick with what they do best.

Exactly. Times change and with change comes evolution. This ain't 1996 no more.
2743562, Nah, his flow had changed over the years.
Posted by The Wordsmith, Tue Sep-25-12 03:44 PM
His flow during the "Whut" days was different from the "Dare" days. The "Dare" flows are different from the "How High/Muddy" days and so on and so on. For me, the "How High/Muddy" era was his pinnacle style. Nowadays, he raps more like the "Malpractice" era flow wise.

I am under the impression that he's gonna rock that "Muddy" era style for the sequel. As a matter of fact, I think he said he got some joints from that era that he was gonna release for the new project.
