2717036, Havent heard anything from Guilty since Random Axe
Posted by mrshow, Thu Jul-05-12 11:00 PM
That album was a letdown.
2717040, yeah it was
Posted by AlBundy, Thu Jul-05-12 11:06 PM
all that delay and the album didnt deliver

Not a good one.
2717048, OJ Simpson is his masterpiece

>Not a good one.
2717053, Guilt's verse on Chewbacca off Random Axe tho?

2717055, I think that album gets a bad rap
Posted by mrhood75, Thu Jul-05-12 11:36 PM
Guilty and Sean P were fucking MURDER on the mic. And a lot of the beats were pretty damn good. For some reason, the album feels longer than it actually is and drags in places as a result, but it's still pretty damn good.
2717060, Agreed. As always, per usual, folks gotta be extra

2717061, "Run" from Guilty's album is still their best song
Posted by mrshow, Fri Jul-06-12 12:02 AM
I think it raised expectations too high.
2717091, that album is just fine
Posted by astralblak, Fri Jul-06-12 01:59 AM
great beats, great rhymes

niggas is cry babies. want progression, but yearn for boom bap, get the boom bap than whine about no progression.

just emjoy good fucn rap music and shut the fuck up... that's what Random Axe is/was damn good straight up rap
2717086, nah his 16s werent the problem
Posted by AlBundy, Fri Jul-06-12 01:43 AM
in fact im not sure WHAT the problem was. its as if there was no chemistry.
P phoned in several verses, but i wouldnt say he was the problem either

i didnt dislike it, i just expected it to be alot better than it is

2717104, ^^^Agreed. Considering the talent involved...
Posted by mrshow, Fri Jul-06-12 03:34 AM
that should have been a classic. Some of the tracks sounded like them going through the motions. "Run" is still one of my favorite tracks of the last few years though.
2717140, I think his 16s were the biggest problem to me.
Posted by 13Rose, Fri Jul-06-12 09:28 AM
I don't remember nan verse from dude on there. I felt myself wanting to skip every time he got to rock. I think even Black Milk came off better. I'm gonna check this OJ Simpson thing to see what I'm missing.
2717144, this is a very interesting perspective that i wholeheartedly
Posted by MISTA MONOTONE, Fri Jul-06-12 09:31 AM
disagree with. to each his own though. *shrugs*

i thought he killed all of his spots...especially on "Chewbacca", "Somebody, Nobody, Everybody" (did i mess that up? lol), and the solo spots.

a word of advice...PLEASE delete the skits between songs when you listen. Madlib WILL piss you off.
2717196, i dont even mind the skits anymore
Posted by Small Pro, Fri Jul-06-12 12:41 PM
it's now a front-to-back listen for me, no skips
2717200, Agreed but I hope that's the most extreme he'll ever take skits

2717172, agreed
Posted by Dr Claw, Fri Jul-06-12 11:26 AM
it may have fallen short of the hype... but that wasn't bad at all. I'm a fan of both Sean P and GS, I remember liking it when it dropped
2717282, Guilty has risen to be one of my fav rappers

Perhaps one of the most amazing benefits of the youtube/mp3 era is kids are now being exposed to underground shit much easier. 15 years ago, kids on the opposite ends of the country really had to do some digging to discover Guilty-level type rap music.
2717100, exactly.

this is my favorite Guilty verse as well and the first verse I ever heard from him. I was in Iraq when my homeboy sent me a bootleg burned disc of Jaylib. Shit got so much play while I was over there, fuck.
