2706551, I've been playing him a bit in Mumu Posted by lonesome_d, Tue Jun-05-12 09:39 AM
I've got the 10 disc set, and a lot of it really knocks me out. Love hearing the demos for some of these songs.
One of the things about Hank was that he could really write in a versatile way... he would nail passion, then heartbreak, then couch it in the next song in great puns and analogies, then write a silly (but awesome) piece of fluff about how fat baby Hank Jr. was getting.
Few of my overlooked favorites:
Settin' the Woods On Fire Howlin' At the Moon his cover of Cool Water, which at first seems a little out of character, but he nails it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5ywIVBBt-Y) Wealth Won't Save Your Soul Six More Miles Rootie Tootie My Bucket's Got A Hole In It Dear John Won't You Sometimes Think of Me
man, the guy's got songs.
