as for the Flat Earth...not sure if folks will consider it a 'synth' album per-se'...and the thing i think i like about it actually is its seamless combination/merging of synth use WITH 'natural' instrument use...

..i think thats what i like about ALL of the ones above...they have the 'right' ratio of synth/natural mix...

as for mr Dolby, dont sleep....'Flat Earth' and 'Aliens Ate My Buick' are both still in regular rotation on my ipod...very creative interesting stuff that have been underrated in my opinion...
