funny as i was watching the trailor for "Sparkle" i saw an old clip of Phillip Michael Thomas and one thing lead to another and I thought back to the 80's and the buddy, buddy films and tv and then of course music and I thought this topic ain't been covered much so now is the time to speak on the Crockett and Tubbs teaming up on 80's duets and which one you dig and what not.

Good point. I forgot about that one.
Also Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves?
Is that technically a duet? (the Euryhtmics and Aretha)

naw jagger sounded like kermit the frog on crack on that duet. naw. dug the original with MJ and freddie mercury far better.

2682624, everything MJ and Mercury recorded together was wrong. Posted by SoWhat, Fri Apr-06-12 01:07 PM
and i'm glad none of it was officially released.
they were awful together. painful, even.
just...no.

turkey please Mick Jagger sounded out of sync and horrible on State of shock. matter of fact MJ dissed him something serious for that flat performance and everybody knows that it was the sony brass trying to push Mick solo and figured this would be a good luck with him and MJ.
freddie sounded better than Mick Wacker

2682738, even Mick's flat performance is better than Mercury's. Posted by SoWhat, Fri Apr-06-12 03:31 PM
i think Mercury was immensely talented, of course. great songwriter, great singer, great entertainer. 1 of the best ever to do it. but him and MJ together just wasn't right. ever. and not even on 'State of Shock'. it sounded like they were both high as hell and just in there riffing and hooting and hollering.
just terrible.

2682850, the demo was them at MJ's home studio figuring the song out lol Posted by jaywonder, Fri Apr-06-12 07:52 PM
They wrote the song (or part of it) then did a rough demo (the percussion is Freddie's assistant slamming the bathroom door lol)
definitely nothing special but at the same time, it's cpp; to hear 2 icons just brainstorming in the studio
