2669396, Ad-Lib Showdown aka What Songs Have the Most Memorable?
Posted by Selah, Thu Mar-01-12 04:51 PM
Songs come to mind for me

"Soon As I Get Home" - Faith Evans (the ad-libs on "Reasons" and "Don't Be Afraid" are good also)

"Breakdown" - Mariah Carey

"That's the Way I Feel About Cha" - Bobby Womack

anybody got other good examples/suggestions?

he nailed 'em on 'Don't Stop Til You Get Enough' too.
2670104, i love how the voices are inverted on that song.

"don't stop 'till you get enough" has a falsetto lead,
and tenor ad libs.

usually, songs reverse that.

MJ said that he wanted to do a song
where he sang lead on falsetto...
but he was concerned that his falsetto wasn't strong enough
to carry that song.

so he wanted to make sure he had a killer rhythm arrangement
to hold the listener's interest.

he succeeded.
man... dig the end of the song,
where the rhythm guitars are chopping like kalimabas
as the song fades out.

just killer.

2670105, he definitely succeeded.
