over to them and also Dinah Shore having Marvin Gaye and other R&B acts on her show, etc.. and all those shows make my cross over point. not saying they weren't about loving R&B,based shows etc..

however appearing on Mike Dougless, Dinah Shore, Midnight Special, etc.. other shows it was clearly a bigger market and the record companys put money in them for that pop look.


Cameo wasn't going to be on any of those shows except Soul train and Midnight Special until about 84 onward.

early Cameo was a Black thang just like the Bar Kays and Con Funk Shun.

back in the day you had funk bands that were a SOuthern thing and then you had bands geared toward the east coast,etc..

Earth,Wind and Fire after thats the way of the world had access to it all and the Irony of that is that the film to thats the way of the world went Burnt Popcorn, but the soundtrack was huge and arguably the most Underrated soundtrack ever IMO.
