I was EXTREMELY disappointed in that album. De La sounded like grumpy old men and the beats were mostly faceless muzak that predicted the "conscious backpacker" sound (think Blackstar, late 90's Common etc.) I never really liked. I can understand why many OKP's dig the album though since that's a style which was popular here...
Anyway, practically nothing I love about De La is found on that album...
It's still "good" though, I give it 3 stars out of 5 but I prefer "Beats, rhymes & life" if we talk 96 Native Tongues and I was disappointed by that one too...
