To be honest, I liked The Carnival. With Mos Def, I didn't really get any material from him. Am just saying that when Jay-Z put out The Blueprint, it changed the facet of hip hop, because this was when they were doing soul music (beats).
Kanye, Timbo, I mean huge producers, and what's happening in hip hop, or what has happened is that it's gotten to be a musical thing.
I liked The Carnival, I buy Wyclef cds all the time, because I wanna see if he can emulate The Carnival again. I love the Haiti sound...
I just feel that modern day hip hop is more of the music, The Carnival to me, I mean not just Clef but Lauryn Hill, you have material here that was so educational, something that wasn't garbage.
Because now is all about showing off how much money you have this and that.
