I loved "The Carnival," so hearing him crawl up his own ass with "The Ecleftic" was a huge let-down. Like, moreso that Mos following up BOBS with "The New Danger." (an album I tried many, many, many times to try and get into). So I will freely admit that I didn't give the post-"Ecleftic" albums enough of a chance. I should probably go back and give some a listen with new ears. But man, back then a lot of it seemed pretty pretentious.
