I have rarely heard that about Prince, even from those who don't really dig him. I can *almost* see where it comes from, but then I'm like, "well, shit -- YOU sing that shit and see how it sounds". Or rather, "put a more conventional singer on some of that shit and see if it still sounds 'right'".

and I almost agree about Leroy Burgess. it's kind of how I laud the Lotus Carlton (car) as one of the GOAT but only a few people will even understand.
