I'm sure you're familiar with Roc Marciano, but I feel like one of his cohorts, Ka, takes Marciano's approach to a different level. Just a nihilistic, but the beats on Grief Pedigree, Ka's debut solo album, compliment the subject matter and delivery wonderfully. I'd go as far to say that this album is like a Brownsville-based neo-noir on wax.

MR. MUHFUCKIN' EXQUIRE, DAS RACIST & DESPOT:

"The Last Huzzah"

These guys, along with Danny Brown are probably the best in the business right now at balancing playfulness and seriousness, ignorance and content & new school and old school mentalities.

ACTION BRONSON:

"Steve Wynn" (you're from Queens, peep the Neptune Diner reference...)

"Bird On A Wire" featuring Riff Raff

I understand the heavy Ghostface and Big Pun influence could be a deterrent maybe two years ago, but Bronson has really come into his own this past year and made some great music that is still sometimes a little too throwback-y for my liking, but his writing is very clever and he is an endearing character.

A$AP FERG:

"100 Million Roses"

I think this dude is actually better than Rocky, but don't take my word for it...click the YouTube link.

"Good Kid"

Here's a cheap plug for my group. I produce the music and PreZZure emcees. I'm posting this up because you're from Queens and I'm obligated to give this music to anybody I meet who's also from there. Okay, cool.

EDIT: Fuck. Forgot about Homeboy Sandman. Look him up, too, if you haven't.
