13325501, Shit has got to turn around for me at some point, right?

Cot damn.
13325508, Damn bro. Keep ya head up.

13325517, It's going to, my guy. Just keep pushing.

13325512, This article about how it's hard for dark skin women to find mates is odd.
Posted by Buddy_Gilapagos, Wed Apr-10-19 08:37 AM

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/apr/08/dark-skinned-black-girls-dont-get-married

I am not challenging the greater point/premise of the article, but it seems a very odd way to start off by her recounting the 12 guys she dismissed for the ambiguous reason of "they weren't her type".

I wonder if that's me being overly critical to another reader on form or if anyone else would have the same reaction?

13325523, i mean she's on a swipe app being picky.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Wed Apr-10-19 09:31 AM
of course she isnt gonna get a lot out of that. even as a woman.

i will say i've sat with my boys (of all races) while they swipe, or i'll let women swipe through mine for fun at work, and im surprised at how much i've heard some variation of "too dark, left" on girls that are really fine.
13325530, Right. I don't doubt what she is saying true at all.
Posted by Buddy_Gilapagos, Wed Apr-10-19 09:52 AM
But she presents the issue in a way that undermines her point by being the picky one in the article.

^^

this is where I'm at with it. This has been a long-running narrative, I don't think she covered any new ground as much as she just wove her woe-is-me low self-esteem shxt into the article.

I wish I could meet her, so I can take her phone from her. Go start a conversation with someone. Be friends with a nxgga instead of looking to check off boxes on her Kameelah-ass list. Find someone who's into YOU.

I dont think she got over her own complex...how do you expect someone else to conquer your demons if you can't.

*shrug*
13325670, I glanced at the article

Sounds rude but I know too many regular, so so looking women (to me) who have husbands and men that adore them.

At some point you have to look in the mirror and think about the dudes you aren’t feeling who are feeling you.

13325681, not rude at all..
Posted by infin8, Wed Apr-10-19 04:41 PM
it's just facts.

that $hit is all subjective.

13325535, not liking this job.
Posted by tariqhu, Wed Apr-10-19 10:01 AM
shit's too chaotic and I'm not use to it. still new, so maybe I'll feel more settled as I learn more, but I'm hella frustrated.

part of it is they've put me with the dev group for my role. I don't code. at all. not really a big issue currently, but could be later. but its more operational. I don't know how devs process they're duties that aren't just coding.

guess I just gotta be patient with me and the gig.
13325553, Procrastination is not my friend...

I've known for years what getting service-connected disability determinations and payments could mean. However, I've been slow-rolling jump starting my involvement in the process.

I've got a couple of buddies who get in excess of $4k per month for themselves, $1.5k per month for their spouse, and $1.5 k per month for each kid that's in college. Why have I been procrastinating despite having my medical and dental records already copied and ready to go?

13325556, I want a pet goat.
Posted by flipnile, Wed Apr-10-19 10:42 AM
Neighbor down the street has chickens, I want a goat.
13325569, Insurance denied my roof claim.
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Apr-10-19 11:21 AM
I don’t have any leaks but it’s old. However they claim it’s in good shape.

I guess I should be happy but I wanted a new roof. I hate the color and it makes the house look dated.
13325573, had mine done recently on a whim.
Posted by tariqhu, Wed Apr-10-19 11:26 AM
the contractor basically did all the talking with the insurance comp. he said all the things that the insurance comp need to hear.
13325584, Had a contractor. A brotha
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Apr-10-19 11:58 AM
He talked a good game but once they walked the roof he got soft on me.
13325588, who hired the "contractor" ?
Posted by FLUIDJ, Wed Apr-10-19 12:18 PM
13325592, I did.
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Apr-10-19 12:28 PM
Insurance asked me if I wanted to use one of their people

Maybe I should’ve but I was thinking they would work together and lowball me.

I don’t have any leaks but I have some rot but that’s an easy fix

13325596, dang...well... at least you gave it a try.
Posted by FLUIDJ, Wed Apr-10-19 12:33 PM

"Get ready....for your blessing....."
13325666, Yeah. My contractor did say it was worth trying before repairing
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Apr-10-19 03:38 PM
Oh well. Gotta keep the ugly roof a bit longer.
13325669, what helped us
Posted by tariqhu, Wed Apr-10-19 03:44 PM
was the damage from hail and some marks from branches. the contractor had dates for past storms that didn't even hit my area.

it all seemed kinda shady until the roof was on. I even got money back to do other repairs.

better luck next time.
13325671, That was the plan. Had a nice ice storm for the claim too
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Apr-10-19 03:47 PM
had all types of plans for that extra money. LOL
13325653, You have have to wait on he next big Hail Storm

arguing with here.

I find post boring when everyone is on the same page so I enjoy being challenged with different opinions but I guess not all opinions are worth entertaining with a response.

I slept

i missed out on a position posted at my job that would have paid 20k more. I assumed that it would go to a person who had the same credentials as the person who left the job, that i know i didn't have. So i never read the posting.

Now they hired this dude off the street with hardly no experience who was coming up to me asking to teach him. Nice dude too but when i learned what the job was paying, i got a little salty and less helpful. Really just pissed off at myself though. Dude didn't do anything to me.

I will say this though that sht wont happen again.
