of people who've been through the struggle you are in. there are meetings pretty much everywhere.

getting around supportive people in real life is your best bet, but in the meantime there are a lot of online communities out there that can help. okp is fine but i encourage you to check in with a community focused on quitting drinking. check out this subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/stopdrinking/

you can do this. it's important you make clear to the people in your life that you have a goal to quit alcohol. so your friend with the massage and wine, break it down for her that you're trying a month alcohol free or some shit. tell people it's a diet thing, whatever. lots of people are quitting alcohol these days for health reasons, etc so you don't need to necessarily to stigmatize yourself with a label like alcoholic to everyone you bring up not drinking with. you can tell people "hey i went a week without a sip and i felt great so i figured why start again now". just start stringing those days together. 3 weeks-month without a drink and things generally start to get a lot easier. the beginning is by far the hardest. you've made some good attempts, time to try again. and again, it is a good idea to get talking with people who've been through the lows you're feeling now and have emerged sober and stronger people for it. do it for yourself, do it for your son. best of luck.
