a lot of white people (esp. those who didn't vote for Trump - remember the popular vote loss thing) view "non-radical" white Presidents/leaders of the past as a "preferable" thing to Trump.


Trump is a radical and McCain, Bushes, aren't.


Radicals make most (popular vote) people uncomfortable, and therefore cause a longing for the past.
