About a year and a half ago I was watching some of her performances of Liberation by Outkast on YouTube over and over for about a three week period.

She's probably the last R&B singer who is super talented in terms of writing, pure voice, improvisation and who has a deep connection to the rich tradition of R&B of the past and how R&B is supposed to be performed. She has it and gets it and does it. Her, Mumblo and Max are the "youngest" of the big names who can really do all of that.
