There's just no class at all to it, all it says is you don't care about the flavor of your liqueur. When I worked at the cocktail lounge, I used to LOVE that certain people would come over from the dive across the street and order a Mid-Shelf/Top-Shelf Long Island, though; same with Margaritas or Mint Juleps. The sort of drinks all the flavors mix in such a way that it doesn't matter a whole lot what your base spirit is, or in the case of the Long Island your roster of spirits; you're just going to taste the mixer and get fucked up.
I DO admire people that order a Texas Tea though because those people truly don't give a fuck about themselves or anyone else around them and there's a certain strength of character in that I think when it comes to drinking.
