Those 2 youtube links should impress upon whoever clicks on them that those two entities were very "thorough"
so....
for a high schooler who was getting into punk/hardcore (because I rented the videotape/movie "Sid and Nancy" while I lived in my East Flatbush Brooklyn hometown and soon afterward moved to NJ where hardcore punk was in my social circle/next door neighbor), I soon found that Maximum Rock N Roll was an extensive magazine with lot's of record reviews.
One of the first reviews that caught my eye was a Japanese hardcore compilation "virus"

so....
I went to Bleeker Bob's and saw the "virus" compilation in the Hardcore punk section, so I bought it. The compilation was released in 1988 (the year I got into Maximum Rock N Roll magazine) and had that "yellow beauty" song on it (even though that song is from 1984 according to that songs youtube link)
The song from the virus comp that really stuck with me from all those years (even though I never forgot the first track) is "open your eyes"

Yeah, I really loved Maximum Rock N Roll magazine and Bleeker Bob's
