I still can't believe it at all, this is some truly sad shit mane, we use to always speak on music from here then when he left here, the conversations, mixes, posting of songs continued on facebook.

Sean will be missed, he always had an upbeat way of talking about music, instead of focusing on the negative, he loved sharing music and giving artists their credit, that's what I liked about him the most.

Damn mane, damn, another homie is gone, damn. :(

Saw an interview with him where he was talking about his influences, way way way way beyond house music. Anybody know how old he was? I know he was a little older cat but I figured in his 40s or early 50s tops.

Since 1976

I only ever interacted with him here, but he was cool people.

Sean and I met on the boards and became really close friends years ago. We talked often (though less so in recent months) and made a point to see each other and act as foolish as possible (our favorite pastime) at least a few times a year. He knew my friends and I knew his. We had the unfortunate task of relaying the news to each other last night while remembering that yesterday was also the day he lost his mom the year before. He would’ve turned 50 on August 2nd - a date I managed to forget for 3 years in a row and he never let me live it down. He was a curmudgeon of the “get off my lawn variety” that I relentlessly made fun of and he was one of my dearest friends. - the kind you don’t have to see everyday to pick up where you left off every time. And we did. And we will again.

RIP, my love. Promise to celebrate every August 2nd from now until forever.

We chopped it up on twitter damn near every day. I woke up this morning to hear the news and I am stunned. he was that dude that helped to make this site, and Chicago social events, fun. He brought his own flavor to conversations. Be it music, sports, or life in general, Sean could talk about anything and make it worthwhile and memorable.

We used to have some rough exchanges, back when things here were much more wild wild west. And I was extremely heavy handed toward him, I think.

For some weird reason, it was heavy on me to reach out. This is back in 2011. It was really, really weird, because I had this heavy need to just make peace with him.

So I sent him an inbox, letting him know I felt a need to apologize, and did. Yeah it's just a message board and you probably don't give this stuff a second thought off board, blah blah blah, but I'm sorry for the way I've spoken to you". I even explained the weird feeling I had that this needed to be done.

He was completely cool about it and said not to sweat it, no hard feelings on his end.

Never a bad exchange after that, if any at all. I was glad I reached out then, even more glad now.

Huh hopefully his life was good, fruitful and happy.

I was just joking with him a couple of days ago, was looking forward to seeing him again, listen to him spin, share a few drinks. He always was a stand up dude to me, from the day I met him. I'll miss him.

it’s surreal. i’m traveling to chicago monday and we made plans as we always do to have lunch or dinner or copious amounts of beverages while i’m there.

I didnt get to tell him that I was moving back to chicago

I was out last week so just saw this last night.

Disco was one of my favorite posters, loved to connect with him over music that we didn't necessarily expect to have in common, loved his humor, creativity, music, thinking. Good man gone waaaaay too soon.
