LeBron 15, Kyrie 4, KD 10, Kobe NXT 360 and Jordan 32 have all been good performances, each one maybe one little thing shy of being perfect and/or an all-time great. The LeBron had awesome cushioning, materials and step-in comfort. Not very stable though and a weird outsole, seems like it is made for AstroTurf. The Kyrie I feel like could make just a little more cushion or rather softness even though it's a big improvement as it is, the first three were way too stiff. Kobe NXT is a great concept, not really suited for me personally but *some* players really love them. The KD10 had weak containment except for people with really wide feet, who couldn't enjoy them that much because of narrow last. Jordan 32 didn't have the best traction to me and the break-in period was ridiculous. Two weeks just for the upper and probably a month for the midsole. Awesome materials though and if you need midfoot support, these have too much if anything.

I also like some BrandBlack stuff, Crossover 2.5, Future Legend, pretty good. Big Baller Brand ripping them off gave them some publicity.

Been kicking around in a lot of Ultra Boost stuff, Beckham Accelerator Boost, stuff with a really cushy feel to kick around. Basketball-wise I did like the first Hardens a lot, this year's are decent but no primeknit yet.

I have pretty much given up collecting vintage. The stuff I like is getting too old, risky to wear it. That has also really dampened my enthusiasm, because the retro models now are really trash and they seem to be recycling so much of the same stuff over and over.

but I was really happy with the 15. I'm not looking for muchinterms of upper stability, and the cushioning was just right.

I tried on the KD 10 and I just couldn't get a good feel.

I was playing outdoors at the Unidad Deportiva when I was in MDE, mostly half court so didn't bother me but when I started running full my joints could really feel it. Playing on wood they feel great.

I am a pretty straight ahead player so the stability and traction issues didn't bother me personally with the LeBron. That said if you step on something uneven they are an ankle injury waiting to happen for sure, I definitely see the gripe. If you play like Kyrie, don't buy LeBron's shoe lol.

But yeah the cushion is great and could be even better in future iterations. The Battle Knit upper is the best part to me, hard to believe they made it so strong but yet so flexibile. I bought a bunch of the "Watch" colorways--Griffey, Mowabb and AM95. I wish they would turn loose more of the ones he wore on the court though

if it were just on shoe, whatever, but the gimmick is played out for me.

Kinda want a new pair of all white low AF1’s. It’s been a few years, used to always have a pair in summer and I’m starting to miss it.

I took my son to see Solo a couple weeks ago and wore my Golden Wheat 13s...it felt wrong.

I’m sure I’ll wear it heavily come fall. I was heavy into shoes as a kid when the 10’s came out....well, heavily into looking at them in the Eastbay catalogs and talking about them, I didn’t actually have them. I remember the 10s dropping right when MJ came back, remember Pippen wearing them and pointing at his shoe and then at the camera telling Mike to come back. And then Mike wore those shadows against Charlotte in the playoffs, which was where I lived at the time.

But I got one shoe per year back then and I’d gotten the Shawn Kemp Reebok Kamikaze’s for Christmas, so no 10’s for me.

It’s crazy how the nostalgia gets to me like that to where I suddenly feel like I NEED to get this shoe, lol.

Those NYC joints were clearanced on clearance at my closest House of Hoops, and they still had a good size run. I bought the Charlotte ones, and I don’t really care for them like I did before I died to get them.

I thought those Charlotte tens were clean! I almost got them, but didn’t think I had much to wear that would go with them. They definitely pop though.

basic ass textile really. i mean i get that boost is not proprietary tech either but adidas bought up the whole supply and it really works. HOVR to me is kinda bouncy in runners but nothing special and all the models look alike. in basketball it feels like a lower-riding charged foam. they should just bring back Micro G and get the fuck on with it. that shit slapped hard AF. they have never made durable shoes yet they keep charging as if they do. they had a really nice run of bball shoes for about 3-4 years (Juke, Torch, Lightning, Anatomix and Clutchfit Drive series plus the first two Currys) but haven't done shit since. They paid JoJo all that dough dough and got him out there balling some basic ass shit. It looks just like the Drive 4, which bricked like a Ben Simmons trey, and the HOVR shit in it you CANT EVEN FEEL. I got a pair for $45 and said fuck it, let's see how they play. If you weigh over 200 you should feel literally any cushion because of compression and what not. I could *barely* feel it in the heel and not at all in the midfoot. They have a little bounce to them but not much and the carrier foam is hard as a rock. The forefoot has no HOVR for whatever reason and I felt like my foot was asleep after an hour of playing and just ran around kinda numb for an hour and a half. Upper materials are trash, too, though the fi and support are solid. Curry 6 has full HOVR and a knit upper, not bad, but Jesus that's their flagship shoe and this is the first time it's lived up to its billing since the Curry 2.

Got a pair of White./Cream Yeezy Boost 350 (I know I know) that are in limbo. Last tracking note for these via FedEx customer service says they were last scanned in Hawaii. Customer Service doesn't believe me even though they can see through the tracking that the package is in transit and FedEx Confirms that they can't locate the package.

Adidas doesn't want to play ball and consider them lost and refund me. This is the part I hate about online purchasing.

Notwithstanding the 9 boots I got a few weeks ago. I’m stomping through the snow in those though, so they don’t really count. They’re gonna be my winter beaters until they die.

I knew I was gonna cop. They took the design back to the OG Infrared MJ rocked during All Star Weekend.

I was gonna bitch out and go to Kixify or StockX, but I got them from FootActio with no issue, somehow.

The Turbo Greens were more appealing to me. The Intrareds were a cool shoe to hoop in when they first dropped. Had two pairs when they first came out. They won’t look as good trying to dress them up. Honestly, they were probably my favorite hooping shoe ever.

Copped the Killshots to rock with the Polo Bear sweatshirts my wife bought me. Nice lil preppy sneaker to throw on. Wanted to try something different from my standard yearly Stan Smith purchase.

Saw the Zooms while walking through Cherry Hill Mall yesterday. The matching jacket (copped) made me want the sneakers even more. Ready to throw them on with either some nice black chinos, joggers, or black jeans. And they were comfortable as hell. The lightness of the shoe as well as the cushioning is ridiculous.

Wanted a pair of black Converse that I could throw on from time to time. Always heard these were comfortable. Wore them this past Friday night. Walked around and into a few bars in Philly. Feet didn’t hurt at all.

And most importantly, I think all four pairs can be dressed up or down which is important for me now. I’m not above throwing my sneakers on with a fitted suit and heading out to anywhere. Basically, I’m looking for versatility out of any purchase I make.

I love those shits, so clean for the summer. I actually like them with a little dirt on them too.

i like them but i always feel weird about "settling" because i know i liked the 9s better, but i am not gonna pay $900 for a pair. these are $200 seem fair but they seem a little off from the original. i thought the 15 was better for the "lebron watch" adaptations and wish they made more of them. the 16s are kinda cool with these though. i just got a pair of the bo jackson x lbj 16 on the low low, trying to figure out if i wanna keep them or not.

Let me start this negative post with a positive development. The Nike Vaporfly 4%. I love the Vapor Street and Moon Racer to kick around in, but these are on ANOTHER LEVEL. Even though they aren't that durable, they are totally worth the $250. This is a revolutionary design in terms of both comfort and performance. It is a racing flat that sits high (I think it's 21MM heel, 11MM forefoot), has a ton of cushion (incredible cushion-to-weight ratio) and BOUNCE like no other (full-length carbon fiber plate). It is simply an engineering marvel. The FlyKnit upper is very similar to the Vapor Street but the tooling is where all the magic happens. I have just been jogging around in them in typical wasteful fashion, but a couple friends ran marathons in them. I do love traditional road flats like the Mizuno Wave Universe and Adidas Takumi Sen series, but these blow them out of the water as long as you can get over the strange feel of sitting so much higher and feel so much cushion.

Adidas is seemingly out of good ideas and now starting to toy with their tech again. The way they cycle through tech indicates their stuff is not a keeper and is not effective. Sometimes it is though (e.g. Formotion bball shoes). They are just totally trashing their hoops stuff now, Harden 3 is hot garbage, Pro Bounce and D Rose 9 are even worse. They are running the Yeezy line into the ground and I look forward to its slow, painful death. Ultra Boost is still nice but Boost is losing its luster and they don't have anything lined up behind it.

Under Armour better hurry the fuck up and give me some Embiid shit. Curry 6 is the best Curry since the 2 and maybe ever, I gotta give it some more run. Their Rock stuff is trash. I wanna see more HOVR stuff, so far it's more potential than substance but I'm happy it exists.

Jordan Brand I dunno, Infrared 6 is decent quality and I'm glad to have it. Russy 2 has all shit colorways except for some of the NCAA PEs I got, which I don't really wanna wear. Shoe is aight. AJ33 was a huge disappointment. Gimmicky fit system actually works, but at the expensive of premium materials or wow-worthy cushioning. I wanna get those Elevation 23s or whatever that Jimmy Butler has been wearing. Overall not real excited, I thought the 33s would be more AJ3-based aesthestically, use Fly Knit again, etc. I've gotten a lot of the NCAA PEs, pretty cool but mostly they just pass through my hands though I did keep a couple pairs.

Reebok is doing a lot of DMX Retros, unfortunately the IPAK DMX system is just a junky imitation of the original. DMX10 is pretty much in tact and I hope to see some models like the RXT make their way back. Overall they continue to be kind of irrelevant but I do like the promise of more retro models returning.

Nike stuff the Kobe NXT 360 was interesting though totally overpriced and somewhat impractical. I loved the tech they used in the insole and to some extent in the upper, but the outsole kinda sucked. I'd like to see a React/Lunar combo like that but in a midtop shoe with a little more structure to it. The latest Kobes are fuckin' trash, and the next ones seem pretty unoriginal. Not sure what the direction of the line besides being inconsistent and overpriced. New Kyries look nice, got the Taco and Concepts ones. Too flat in the forefoot for me to play serious ball in but for a light-on-his-feet guard they are nice shoes. PG series continues to be dull and forgettable AF, even as PG himself is playing awesome. KD10 is a decent concept, weak execution. Instable, poor support in the forefoot, and another clunker for KD destined for Ross Dress for Less. The man just doesn't sell shoes IMHO, probably because he is not very likable (though I kind of fuck with him). The LeBron 16 is cool but over-tweaked. Just give us the same damn shoe with a better outsole and a small outrigger. The 15 was almost perfect and the "Watch" colorways possibilities were endless. So far the 16 "Watch" looks don't do much for me. Glad to see the LeBron 3 retroed and hoping for an Oilers retro for sure.

I still love buying vintage but so much time has passed that most of this stuff is not wearable. That is depressing. Quality of retros is still ass, which I can't fathom. Selection of models is so scattershot, too, so many worthy models have dropped once or never at all, yet the Air Max Uptempo 3 is on its fourth round of retros or some shit.

I'll chime in on what I know about.
The AJ6 Infrared...I was very excited about these from the time they announced them. There's been 3 or 4 iterations since the OG and this one is supposedly going back to the nubuck, the correct red and the 3M reflective materials. I'll see once I have them in my hand, but I'm sure I'll like them, regardless.

The Russ' have some great colorways, IMO. I got the OG color and The Family colorway. I like the shoe A LOT more than his first one. It feels pretty good on foot...but not suffocating.

PG3 is another I like WAAAY more than the last..even though I have several pairs of 2's and 2.5's. So far, I only have the NASA joints.

It's funny...I have on a pair of AJ 33's, right now. The closure system is cool, I guess. I'm a fan of no laces, which is why I bought those Fresh Prince AJ 5s. This is my first time wearing the 33's...you're right...nothing special in the way of cushioning. Feel as stiff as some of my OG joints I still have from the early 2000's.

You nailed it on the Lebron 16. Not sure what they were going for there. It looks like a skinny Lebron 15, with a smaller outsole. I knew I wasn't going to cop, the first time I saw it. A note on the 15. I remember you and I discussed my comments on the "nodules" on the outsole. For the record, I've really grown to love this shoe. The upper and the fit was already superior, I just hated the way that outer felt. Maybe there is a wear-in period. I've hooped in these and just wore them to work out in. Probably my favorite Lebron after the Soldier 11.

I'll probably grab a pair in a bit...I don't mind paying the $130, but I'm sure the price will dip. Looks like a fun little hoop shoe.

Kobe 11 Elite continues to be the best Kobe ever, to me. Might be my favorite non-Jordan shoe. Great fit, amazing grip...I've probably got 8 pairs, right now.

What are your thoughts on the Kawhi joint...if you've gotten a chance to get eyes/hands on a pair?

i am fine with the 6s. way better than the "og" black/silver 5s, which were a joke, and pretty much in step with the aj3 OG releases, which didn't have as much going on.

yeah the 15 is an awesome shoe i just wish they put the outrigger on it that they put on lebron's pairs. i could live with the weird outsole if they had that. the 16 i did get two pairs, a superman one to wear with colombia stuff and a black/red pair to play in. like them but i am not in love with them. not nearly as bouncy as the 15. many reviewers scoffed at separating the three air units (because the old "transfer" system was like sucking air through a coffee straw) but i think it made a difference. not as fast or bouncy or soft, even though it's the same tech implemented in the same way otherwise. the outsole is an improvement. but the fit is funny. dead space in the toe box and not a real secure heel (plus it has no padding at all around the achilles). they'd probably be higher on my list if i had never owned the 15. the 15 was damn near perfect, it needed two or three tweaks and it would have been the GOAT. these made all the tweaks, i guess, but they also took some steps backwards.

i got one curry out of curiosity but yeah i'll wait on more. the 2s and 3s ended up at ross, so did some of the 1s (but not many). i had zero interest in the 4s and 5s but these have breathed life into the line for sure.

That kind of skinny build leather tennis shoe looks super weird on my foot. I did love both those guys and I'd like to rep for them but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Generally anything i cop is off the rack, but starting to really like what i am seeing from Nike that i would like to get into some draws and also get more shit on release. I downloaded the SNKR App but what are the feeds to follow for draw entries and such. When i go onto Nike the SNKR launch calendar and also list of twitter feeds to follow seem to be down. Any resources you folks can provide would be greatly appreciated for a beginning collector.

They have an app, twitter, and site. Gives you updates on drops and re-stocks. Best to have the app and twitter so you get alerts. There are few more out there but I tend to stick with SOLELINKS cause I've eaten the most off of their notifications.

well first off, they didn't have the OG Nike Air heel tab and secondly i think they did a nice job on the OG quality this time (unlike the shitty ass "OG" 5s).

also shits slapped pretty hard on the secondary market last time, i was getting four or five hundo a pair. these won't reach that level for a long time; big production numbers.

LBJ 16 coulda been the perfect shoe but it isn't. Kobe's shit is trash now though I did like the NXT 360, albeit it at half the original price at most. Kyrie same brick hard shit for featherweights as always. Curry 6 is nice, but still a UA thing and kinda weird. Adidas bball is in the shitter except the Dame 5 and I didn't like how they fit me. KD shit is still trying too hard, just like KD himself, and they can't seem to fix basic issues for years running. PG series is what it is, basic. New Westbrook is aight but ugly. I did get the "Chaos" version of the first Russys and they are kinda cool. Much less stiff than the OG version in both the upper and midsole; you can actually feel the Zoom. Like a lot of updates, they got lost in the shuffle for a lack of hype.

Curious how those are. I’ve got the Kobe 1 protro and love them.

Never had the original 4’s, but always heard good things.

I still have my Jellybean Bryant OG ones, a Hornets pair and a couple Lakers color ones (four rings, gradient home) but those two I didn't wear. I loved the way the tooling felt, very nice Zoom with fluid transition. I don't know how they'd be without the same cushioning setup. I wasn't crazy about the fit. That generation of Flywire I tried to go down half a size where possible (e.g. LeBron 7/8, OG Hyperdunk) but these were too narrow to do that. Fit was a little sloppy as a result and even going down half a size they had a couple spots where the containment isn't great. Overall I think they were one of the better Kobes to play in but again I can't make any guarantees on Protro version. The 1s were pretty cool, nicer materials than the originals which you don't see often on retros now.

It was just the right amount to where it feels great without me really paying attention to it. Felt “normal”. I wish they’d use that balance in every shoe.

Loved the traction, materials, feel, and overall look of that shoe. I might just grab a couple more pairs while they’re still around, and not worry about the other models that they seem to be dropping the ball with. It’s hard to find shoes like the Kobe 1 now anyway, and shoes like that will always seem like the default “what a basketball shoe should be like” to me because they’re more like the shoes I grew up playing in. And Nike usually bullshits with the tech on their other b-ball retroes. I’d damn near kill for a real retro of the Barkleys and Garnetts I had in high school that they haven’t ever even retroed, or legit retros or protros of the first few Penny models or the Webbers.

Picked up the whole set of GOT Ultra Boost though I ended up keeping only the grey and black/red. Nice designs. Obviously we know what to expect from the UB 4.0, and that's plush comfort. Very pleased with those. I also got some Yeezy 700s for the first time. On one hand, they are very cushy and have a wide base. On the other, this is a $300 shoe with $90 materials. Very trashy IMHO.

Vapor Street is maybe my favorite shoe of the past year. The upper hugs the foot perfect and is by far the best FlyKnit running shoe yet, surpassing the Air Max Flyknit (I dunno how to compare with the LeBron 15 and AJ32, different purposes, but those were great for bball). The foam is also money, I think they are a lot more comfortable than the pricier and more difficult to obtain VaporFly 4%. HOWEVER, the 4% is an incredible shoe in and of itself, complete game-changer for road flats. It's got a higher height, more cushion and more rebound than any other road flat/distance runner on the market. I think durability is a concern given its purpose but performance is not, super bouncy and built to keep you going and going. It's rare than a tech-focused shoe lives up to its billing, but these definitely do.

There was some heat in there, a lot of college player samples and EYBL samples. Some of this shit excites me but I dunno, increasingly I can't justify keeping something expensive when the GR versions of it are $60 at the outlets and shit. I wish Nike would value their non-sample, non-exclusive stuff a little more again. The Jordan Retro stuff I'd be inclined to keep but it's so expensive. At $3K to 10K a pair there is no way I am wearing this shit, especially when they got a dozen other colors out there for $200. Some of my clients have dozens of pairs like that, too, must be nice to be able to just squander that kind of money (although now that I think about it I squander a shit ton of money myself, just less at a time).

how quickly do you move inventory after you acquire it?

I am not like a retail store where I need floor space. I have a big ass storage space so I'm not pressed. I do get mad when stuff sits, especially when it starts to creep up and then someone buys it at the asking price only to see the value skyrocket. Case in point I had 32 pairs of AJ1 black/red and black/royal from 02 or whatever. They sat forever and then started moving in the high 200s. Inside of no time at all shits are like $600+ everywhere.

I shot around in them before a Pelicans game and during the game (I was just watching it in the stands) my feet hurt like hell. I like the Turbo Zoom thing but I wish the unit were thicker. Upper setup is nice. If you're a light on your feet guard, I bet they are awesome. Traction is great.

i kinda liked the 9 elite and 10 for just kicking around but they sucked to play basketball in. weak containment, no support. the 11 had these weird stiff portions on the uppers and was hella wobbly. they also kinda killed the cushion with all that hard rubber around it. i liked the kobe nxt 360 a lot better, a shoe that had similar goals and achieved them all at a higher level.

Looking at Credit card activity, the Pending Credit card charge was immediately reversed by them since they no longer had the shoes I tried to order.

They’re on stockx for not too much over retail. Like $250 or so in most sizes last I checked.

I tell him then go buy those shits off StockX, bitch, because if there were pairs at that price available in your size, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Worse still is that they have many times rejected legit pairs (some cats on here even had that issue) and just as many times they have sent people fakes!

In addition to that, the counterfeiters now also make counterfeit StockX tags and hang them off every fake pair to give them an air of legitimacy.

L4D sneaker exchange on Facebook (surprisingly a lot of money moves through it, no fees), raffles (gotta trust the person doing the raffle though), eBay will move something sought-after like that, RIF in LA for consignment (15% so pretty similar to what eBay/PayPal/StockX end up taking and they have a lot of foot traffic), etc. I havent dealt with Flight Club in a long time but they are still around and did fine by me in the past.

It's a weird shoe. No Flynit, but a thin almost plastic upper that's just slightly padded around the ankle. They fit and feel fine, but will see how they do when I get some miles on them. I could do without the silver tape going up the toe of the shoe, but everything else works for me. They also make a good counterpoint to the Air Max 90 2014s I have.

I took them back two days later because, when you take a step, the shoe separates from your foot right above the top lace. Everyone that I know who owned a pair took them back for the same reasons. And the sales team in a few Foot Lockers have told me that they're being returned for that specific reason more than any other.

Trying to wear my size with socks had me about to burst into tears at work. I tried a few more times but could never get a good fit. I went a size up but I still can't wear them with socks. Them shits crush my feet.

I bought the original color way 33s. I have a grillion pairs of Js and I cop size10, without blinking. Copped these on a 10 and could barely get my foot in them. Sold them, took a small loss. Bought a 10.5, tolerable, but still uncomfortable. The gimmicky closure system was meh. I've worn them once.

34s are solid from what I can tell. They’re comfortable, they fit me nicely, and traction seems like it will be really good.

With a very common shoe size, it's always tough for me to get the ones I really want. And I'm not buying any sneakers on the resell market. Not worth it to me.

I got lucky a few years ago and missed 11.5s on the Cactus Jack 4s and ended up getting them in a 12. That was the last time SNKRS ever came thru for me on an actual coveted shoe.

There's dickheads on there, but they're pretty easy to spot, IMO. Zero feedback, ultra low feedback and ANY of it is negative, never sold shoes before, got a shoe listed as brand new but a stock photo, price super less than everyone else is selling the same shoe for...you get the point.

Copped these and am still waiting to see if my request to purchase the Air Max 90 Duck Camo was accepted. My first request for a size 10 was rejected because they’d already sold out in that size. The AM 2090 is kinda growing on me. With the right colorway it works. The ripstop material may not be as comfy though (the 2019 Vapormax are all ripstop and fused tape and feel funny. Not quite uncomfortable, but not quite cozy either)

A skate shop in bmore did a cool raffle for the Travis Scott SBs - you had to donate 5 articles of clothing in order to get one raffle ticket. You could donate 15 items max for 3 tickets. The two of them, who have multiple choices of Js, slides, Lebrons, etc...to choose from when they get ready for school were absolutely nonplussed at the idea that : a) Nana only gave you one pair of shoes to wear to school
b) You had to take them off as soon as you got home from school

If I ever got more than 2 pair of shoes in a year it was because they were handed down.

My kids have inherited all manner of dunks, high and low....everything I coveted and passed on.

Might get an even cheaper pair for the summer if our feet grew too quickly. It was three boys in my parents’ home. I was the oldest. Clothes were handed down but shoes would be dogged too badly.

Then, I hit a certain age (maybe 12 or 13) and my uncles handed down their “tennis shoes” if I begged them enough. I remember one of my uncles gave me his black suede Pony high tops that he’d copped during his annual summer trip to Chicago to visit our aunt. Funny too because my wife also believes, based on how she sees my parents living now, that I grew up that way.

Since I played ball then, I could get an extra pair which were the team shoes. My boy, who went on to play for the University of Texas, was the only dude in our middle school who had the 1s. His uncle, who played for the Rockets at that time, bought them for him.

Their go-tos for me were high top Pumas and a high top Etonics. I didn’t even get to go with them to pick them out. My mom would just cop and bring them home. “Here, baby! I bought you some new shoes.”

I never thought the Mocha 1s were gonna hold at that high of a resell price. I LOVE my Court Purps...my favorite 1, from last year. Somebody had a pair of the Taupes, in hand on Reddit...the quality looked like some shit. I think the next thing I’m going after is the Raging Bull 5s...then probably those UNC 4s...color is pretty close to my Travis Scott 4s, but they clean.
