While I hate the argument that a scholarship is a form of payment let’s be real. A person going to law school or getting a masters can leave with 100K in student loans while the basketball player can get a half decent education and a free ride if they stay for 4 years.

Also, these kids can go overseas and play and get paid if they wanted to but it’s a hard road compared to college life.
