Its one of those things where you don't think about it too much until you pay attention.

I was driving and 'Baby Got Back' came on and it hit me...

If this song was made today it would not be as pro black as it is. If it were done today it would likely feature a slew of women who resemble Iggy Azelea

Sir Mix-A-Lot explicitly named Flo-Jo, "sistas" and the idea that rock video girls are the antithesis of his vision of beauty ("knock kneed bimbos" - bimbo being a derogatory term for a blonde woman)

Objectification aside, its a song celebrating the shape of black women. This contrasts with the current view of european beauty ideals displayed in current rap videos.
