A grip of well-paying, white collar jobs can have a ripple effect on the local economy with taxes, housing, retail, travel/tourism, etc.
The negatives are the same negatives that come with any growing economy, only probably much more rapidly.
Gentrification concerns aside, I was kinda hoping they'd go to Detroit for the reasons I stated above.
