documentary by Deeyah Kahn who spends time with white nationalist leaders (current and former) to try to get some sense of what drives them to these movements.

I found her approach pretty interesting. She's not pretending not to judge them. She's very straight up with these guys saying she's a lefty activist muslim feminist who finds everything they stand for disgusting and wrong, but she's somehow approaching them in a way that cracks through them.. almost like a therapist. they all seem to genuinely like and respect her, and feel uncomfortable knowing the kind of shit she takes from people like them for just existing . She winds up with some of them through the whole charlottesville thing. literally marching with them while filming, and visits with them months after.

She also talked to Richard Spencer and Jared Taylor who somehow come off far more subhuman and irredeemable than the so-called blue collar nazis from earlier in the doc (which is saying a lot because those guys were saying some truly disgusting shit). Spencer especially is pretty much a parody of an 80s movie yuppie villain.
