New client I've been working with who has an organic beef farm / beef jerky product and needed brand identity work

13218164, Damn. That’s good work. 1 and 3. Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Dec-06-17 06:39 AM
Not feeling the brush stroke in the circle in 3 tho...
2 doesn’t have enough contrast. Maybe if the background was reversed in the wrapping it could work.
Orange is a hard color to hit but #1 is it for me.

13218499, Yeah orange and black is hard to not scream halloween lol Posted by Heinz, Wed Dec-06-17 11:55 PM
Which is why i have hints of gold and cream, thanks for checking it out ----------

13218202, I like Option #1 Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Wed Dec-06-17 09:48 AM
The logo is really nice, as is the packaging for the jerky.

13218204, Orange??? Posted by Kira, Wed Dec-06-17 09:55 AM
Can you change it to a different shade of orange?
My answer is option 2 with the bolder black color of option 1.

13218209, Option #1 def my favorite. Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Wed Dec-06-17 10:05 AM
2 looks too dull. dont think it'd catch my eye in the meat aisle.

13218211, Nice. I like option 1 for the jerky pack & 3 for the raw meat *pause* Posted by micMajestic, Wed Dec-06-17 10:12 AM

If all of the packagings will use the same color scheme, then 1 is my favorite.
|
13218436, Yeah i would like to use the same colours for both meat and jerky Posted by Heinz, Wed Dec-06-17 06:43 PM
Im going to push for them to add a small window for the jerky packaging so people can see it. Will help when other flavours etc are made
plus for things like jerky people would rather see the actual product than nothing or a picture of it which ive seen some people do

13218242, 2 3 and 7(obviously) all day Posted by Atillah Moor, Wed Dec-06-17 11:25 AM
mascot overpowers the logotype when placed above it and the logotype is the stronger of the two (but the mascot is pretty strong as well)

13218303, Comments from a printer's perspective Posted by mista k5, Wed Dec-06-17 01:51 PM
First, I would say Option #1 is my favorite with only a slight hesitation about the gradient. I think it looks really nice and should be easy to print.
Since the files are in RGB I am not certain if you have two separate colors for the gold and light tan or if the light tan is a tone of the gold color. If two separate colors then make sure that you hold both colors throughout the gradients.
What process will these be printed in? I think option #1 should be fairly easy to print in any process. If it is being printed analog you could potentially get the design down to 3 spot colors instead of CMYK, which would save decent money in printing.
I think Option #2 is too subtle and lacking the pop that Option # 1 has. Also, it has too many gradients and those are just headaches for printers lol. Option # 3 would have some bad looking traps with the orange and green if it is printed using an analog process. It is also a bit too complicated from a design point of view.
Overall really good work.

13218309, that's exactly what i was thinking Posted by hardware, Wed Dec-06-17 02:05 PM

its a solid design overall, but the use of color could be money saving. I'd go so far as to think it might be able to work with two colors. like maybe instead of the gold, you screentoned orange to make it look lighter.

13218313, Could definitely be reworked to 2 Posted by mista k5, Wed Dec-06-17 02:10 PM
3 is no problem. Black, PMS 110 and PMS Bright Orange. Getting it to 2 colors might need some compromises though.

13218498, Ahhh amazing points Posted by Heinz, Wed Dec-06-17 11:53 PM
Yeah I'll def pick colours more carefully when they choose a colour way I usually do but I could tell u could sway them using certain gradients on certain things. Plus I wanted to really push in their head a more premium feel that they wouldn't understand without the gradient/flashiness/shine to it. Some people can look at the gold and think its yellow hence the gradient.
I really appreciate this feedback always good to have a printers eye before i finalize things that are made into physical copies. ----------

13218308, 2 looks like it sells next to Trump Steaks at Sharper Image lol Posted by Boogie Stimuli, Wed Dec-06-17 02:05 PM
I agree w/ most everyone else... option 1
|
13218438, Haha i was going for that premium feel Posted by Heinz, Wed Dec-06-17 06:46 PM
which both options 1-2 have I think. But yeah I do like the orange one the best.
When researching i was going for a premium. indie, coffee, hispter beer look while still have a slight older feel cleaned up with a modern look (hence why i was researching cool coffee brands/packaging)

13218316, Option 1. Posted by T Reynolds, Wed Dec-06-17 02:16 PM
like others said, number 2 is too subtle for the meat section (it's not the Granola aisle, it's cold and bloody and crowded in there)
and 3's use of green might resonate well with certain consumers but the color combo is too jarring

13218501, the logo color scheme of 1 with one of the greens from 3 as the bg color Posted by J_Stew, Thu Dec-07-17 12:12 AM

13219544, I like. Definitely #1 Posted by biscuit, Mon Dec-11-17 04:15 PM
#3 is clashing and #2 doesn't say food.
Oh, and lose the shadow below the logo. It's fighting the crisp flatness of the logo.
As a multi-decade Art Director, I applaud this.

13219547, Thanks man I really appreciate that Posted by Heinz, Mon Dec-11-17 04:19 PM
Yeah the shadow was just fluff for the client lol ----------
