This kind of behavior is very congruent with its origins, considering that some of the first ones insisted that the enfranchisement of women would strengthen white supremacy. The question is whether or not any other group of women can really be feminists, since feminism at it's core is the feminine branch of white patriarchial/supremacist ideals. Hence the "black men are trash" crowd is simply proving they're just as committed to the cause as white women... especially when we remember that early white feminists were white women fighting for the right to vote over the "inferior" and "rapist" black male as they said things like "if it needs lynching to protect woman’s dearest possession from the ravening human beasts—-then I say lynch, a thousand times a week if necessary.” ("ravening human beasts" refers to Black men)
In light of these facts, what do you *really* mean when you say you don't know if white women can be or are feminists? I'm guessing you're talking about the alleged principles of feminism that exclude all exercised white supremacist tenets?
