That award has nothing to do with Trump. He was simply presenting it. Should dude have declined because of his disdain for Trump (if he had disdain)?

I wouldn't accept an invite for something minor or if I was part of a sports team. But if I did something worthy of being honored by the office of the president, in there.

I'm not going to be cheesing or anything (that was jokes early in the post). But I'll solemnly accept the award, shake his hand, snap a pic, and be out
