i thought people (even reputable journalists) were being irresponsible with that story...almost all but assuring it was somebody high up in the trump circle that deserved an unprecedented amount of security/secrecy.

i mentioned here why it was likely a foreign target (and likely middle eastern) instead of one of the american big fish.

*we* have to be careful not to have our vision clouded by desirable outcomes and fall victim to wishful speculation like they do on the right. a lot of well-meaning folks prematurely got their hopes up because that story was spun out of control by people who normally know better.
