Trump said it- he could shoot someone in the face and not lose GOP support.
Just in quick talks with only two of these shitball senators, there is
"yeah, but Cohen is a liar"
"Democrats will do anything to hurt Trump"
"yeah, but the economy is good"
"yeah, but that was before he was president"
Oh, and maybe the most impressive- "well sure, but anything is a crime these days..."

I'm sure there are at least 5 other defenses that have been poll tested.
And to be clear, I don't expect either of these guys to say anything else. It is, however, a preview of how all GOP officials will be answering these types of questions moving forward.
The GOP only cares about staying in power.
