He was voted in because of exactly what you're talking about.

But then my point still stands that the folks who have the power to do something about it post-election, namely Repugnantcans in Congress, are backing his every move and making excuses for him. They represent that majority of white americans that you speak of ... but they are "supposed" to be morally above the majority of white americans, though we know that has never been the case.

So yea we're saying the same things here basically.
