13194202, So Jason Whitlock blamed Ta-Nehisi for Jamele Hill's takedown of 45

Sounds like he is still salty about Ta-Nehisi telling him to kick rocks during his brief tenor at Undefeated.com
13194204, Serious Question; who's more Sambo then Jason in 2017?
Posted by BigReg, Wed Sep-13-17 01:05 PM
Gotta figure even Clarence Thomas, decades deep, did some shit that gave me pause in 2017.

Like, just how MUCH are those shuck and jiving checks?

*thinks a lil more*

is larry elder still around? if so he gets that emertius-type, till-he-dies-there-can-be-no-other status
13194258, Omarosa close, but she plays mostly defense
Posted by BigReg, Wed Sep-13-17 02:18 PM
She's not as proactive with the coonery as past greats. Ray Lewis too dumb to even Sambo right

THIS IS A FANTASTIC RANKING!!!!!!
13194273, The Milwaukee sheriff? Ben Carson?
Posted by tha_scientist, Wed Sep-13-17 02:44 PM
My vote goes to the sheriff.
13194280, Shit, Clarke might win it.
Posted by BigReg, Wed Sep-13-17 02:52 PM
I still feel Ben Carson just acting underneath it all for some reason, like he comes home and puts on some Adidas slides, has some henny, and calls up his boys to go to the club.
13194305, Isn't Clarke out of a job right now?
Posted by Numba_33, Wed Sep-13-17 03:57 PM
13194848, I think he quit
Posted by tha_scientist, Fri Sep-15-17 04:22 PM
But I'm guessing he figures that he could make more money speaking on the conservative speaking circuit.
13194339, Def Clarke cause he got institutional power behind him
Posted by astralblak, Wed Sep-13-17 07:24 PM
I wanna laugh about Carson,But I can't. He does actual harm too

Whitlock introduced Ta Nahesi to a few folks who didn't know about him by referencing his name. I'm assuming he did this on that Fox Sports TV show of his. If so, pretty interesting a Fox Sports TV show would want to reference an ESPN television reporter, but I guess he has to do whatever he can to earn his paychecks.
13194214, fox can reference espn. espn cant acknowledge fox. punching up v down
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Wed Sep-13-17 01:17 PM
13194215, So that's really a normal thing?
Posted by Numba_33, Wed Sep-13-17 01:18 PM
That's so bizarre to me, but the ratings are so poor, so I guess Fox Sports has to do what they can to keep the lights on.
13194220, man, both these stations are struggling to break even

13194222, This happened on Fox and Friends morning show
Posted by Ron Burgandy, Wed Sep-13-17 01:25 PM
They had Whitlock on as a guest to discuss this....I wanted to jump through the screen when they asked him "Why on earth would she label the President a White Supremist?" To which he replied "Ta-Nehisi is an intellectual leader of the Left and he recently wrote a piece basically calling Trump a White Supremist, and his minions followed suit."
13194225, damn.. he is bitter as fuck, lol
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Sep-13-17 01:31 PM
13194241, yep. skip tries to be slick w/ the references

13194224, Say more about Ta-Na/JW and The Undefeated
Posted by Hitokiri, Wed Sep-13-17 01:30 PM
i dunno that story
13194228, RE: Say more about Ta-Na/JW and The Undefeated
Posted by Ron Burgandy, Wed Sep-13-17 01:34 PM
So ESPN thought it was a good idea to name Whitlock Chief Editor of the Undefeated back when it was in development. Whitlock approached Ta-Nehisi about working with him on the site, Ta-Nehisi told him to kick rocks...shortly after Whitlock was relieved of the position and later fired from ESPN
13194356, Makes sense. I was so fucking confused when they named him editor in cheif
Posted by Hitokiri, Wed Sep-13-17 11:50 PM
Like does no one at ESPN know what "kind" of Black man he is?
Do any white people recognize that kinda nigga for what he is?

whitlock should've known better.

part of me wonders how much of whitlock is an act, if any. he just seems so contrary to things that make sense.
13194357, I refuse to believe it's a work
Posted by Hitokiri, Wed Sep-13-17 11:54 PM
like there's no way he could say and write the things he does if he didn't believe them. How could he go home at night and look in the mirror? kiss his kids? see pictures of his parents? Ain't no way. Ain't no fuckin way. (c) Fewtch.

Screaming to get out.

I refuse to believe Black folk when they troll like this when they are getting paid good money.
13194403, that's actually why I wonder how much is trolling.

Like, I don't know exactly what he is saying, or how he is phrasing it

But when Jemele tweeted what she did, I immediately assumed that she had just read TNC's piece... and I'm willing to bet I'm right.

Even her wording was clearly influenced by the Atlantic article.
13195550, Kid Apologizes for His Role in Bizarre Colin Kaepernick Impersonation
Posted by Lurkmode, Tue Sep-19-17 11:46 AM

https://www.spin.com/2017/09/kid-n-play-colin-kaepernick-apology-jason-whitlock/

Christopher Reid–also known as Kid, one half of the bygone party-rap duo Kid ‘n Play–has apologized for his impersonation of NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick in a planned sketch for Fox Sports 1’s Speak for Yourself that never actually aired. “Let me be clear-the skit and photo were not meant to disrespect Colin’s message or political stance,” he wrote in a statement posted to Facebook. “Rather, we wanted to spoof the media’s treatment of him and the circus that has been created…Anyone who knows me knows where I stand on Colin Kaepernick–exactly where he stands.”

Last week, a minor controversy erupted when Speak for Yourself host and conservative sports prognosticator Jason Whitlock tweeted a photo of himself with a Kaepernick impersonator who was later revealed as Reid, wearing an afro wig and raising his fist in a black power salute. Because Whitlock has publicly criticized Kaepernick’s pro-black politics in the past–and because some observers initially mistook Reid for a white guy in the photo–the image was rightfully interpreted as an attempt to ridicule Kaep’s public stances against racism and police violence.

In his statement, Reid acknowledged that Whitlock isn’t exactly a hero of the Black Lives Matter movement, but argued that his experiences as a black man from New York City put him squarely on Kaepernick’s side of the debate. “Being born and raised in NYC I grew up seeing and reading about dozens of acts of police brutality,” he wrote. “And the same way we know the names of Tamir Rice, Philando Castile and Michael Brown today, I grew up knowing the same fate had come to Eleanor Bumpurs, Amadou Diallo, and Abner Louima. Sadly, little has changed.”
13195598, So he supports Kaepernick
Posted by Numba_33, Tue Sep-19-17 12:57 PM
but he still thought it would have been wise to go on a segment for Jason Whitlock where he was going to poke fun at Kaepernick's situation? That makes no sense to me at all. It almost seems as if Kid is trying to play both sides.
13195605, Yeah I didn't buy that
Posted by Lurkmode, Tue Sep-19-17 01:01 PM
He would have never done that if he supported Kap.
13195606, Kid N Playing both sides
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Sep-19-17 01:02 PM
that shit made no sense. I was mad disappointed to find out that was him.

I know people gotta eat but damn Kid, not like this.
13195611, Fun fact
Posted by Numba_33, Tue Sep-19-17 01:09 PM
>I know people gotta eat but damn Kid, not like this.

I don't know if he works with him presently, but Kid worked as music supervisor or something similar for Bill Maher's HBO show. I don't know if Bill Maher is still his boss because I haven't watched Bill Maher in years, so I couldn't tell you if Kid is struggling to pay his light bills at the moment.
13195614, He made a beat for Bill's opening and closing credits.
