If people are paying that in taxes but it is subsidizing a better quality of life because of health care, free college, paid family leave and time off, etc then "less" in taxes can be somewhat deceptive. I'm paying taxes + insurance + student loans, and barely have to show for it what a man in Denmark with the same hustle is getting with his fixed tax rate.
