the only way to ensure the political outcomes you want is to win elections and control the levers of power.

a dem house/senate would have the power to hold investigations/hearings and subpoena witnesses and continue to peel away at his popularity (like clinton/benghazi/emails). a dem senate could put a lid on trump judges.

dem governors, state houses, and state superior courts can effectively control redistricting and put more house seats in play for dems. and dem secretaries of states or election board majorities control voting procedures/access to increase dem turnout and increase the chances of victory.

obama was president for 8 years with substantial mandates by the majority of american voters. that didnt stop repubs from killing much of his agenda in the states, dismantling much of his policies in the courts, putting the breaks on his judicial nominations, and relegating much of his success to reversible executive actions and agency rules.

we have to become more of a party that values power for the sake of power (because thats the *only* way to ultimately get the results we want). we cant continue to constantly do this song and dance where we have to get inspired to show up, get easily turned off by imperfect or boring options, ebb and flow from election to election, etc.

the gop figured this out a long time ago. dems are still running behind.
