(Even though it really really really fucking should have.)
People seem to get way more feisty about the character of the artist when an award comes into play. And Sundance critics, for better or worse, deemed this an award front-runner. (That's also, as I said above, when people start giving a shit about the accuracy of events, for reasons unknown.)
