I know Dyker Heights is far, but... http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/abo/5721196325.html

I'm curious to know how these type of scams function?

13054801, If it's a scam, then the "landlord" will be "travelling"

They'll hit you back like, "We're an older retired couple. We're on on religious retreat in (some faraway place), so if you paypal us the money (or drop it off to their "son") they'll get the keys in your hand and you can move in.

Another scam is folks that somehow get key copies for vacant apartments (that they have no connection to), show you the shit, have you sign a lease a hand over 1st, security (and maybe last) then *poof*
13054808, That makes sense

owner was black too.

Family was too embarassed to show their faces on camera.
