12959157, Is it true that frying in olive oil is super unhealthy
Posted by Firecracker, Tue Jan-19-16 11:44 AM

The top chefs on TV always use olive oil

But everybody says its no good and you're better off using sunflower oil or whatever

12959163, it's fine.

i hadn't heard that frying in olive oil is unhealthy until i looked for info after reading your question. i found nothing that makes me want to stop using olive oil for frying.
12959354, real talk I use olive oil. I haven't had luck with sunflower, canola, and coconut oil

When it comes to cooking.

Oh I love peanut oil too...
12959388, it just has a low smoke point. good for sautéing some things
Posted by double negative, Tue Jan-19-16 04:33 PM
but if you want to fry and need that hot hot heat then you go with grapeseed or peanut oil
12959529, yeah I seriously had a smoky house
Posted by godleeluv, Tue Jan-19-16 09:43 PM
I refuse to try that again.

I tried 3 times, it's just not my calling to fry with those oils.
12959565, From what I've heard....

It's not bad per se....just that the benefits of olive oil cook out so you're not getting the good stuff unless you eat it raw. But it doesn't 'turn into' something bad for you. Apparently the benefits of grapeseed oil remain intact after frying.
12959159, I'm about to eat a chicken cheesesteak

12959382, done...and I took the red string off before I cooked it
Posted by godleeluv, Tue Jan-19-16 04:29 PM
Forgot to do that last time.

All the crispy came off when I took it off after I cooked.
12959384, It still comes with the string?
Posted by John Forte, Tue Jan-19-16 04:31 PM
12959528, yeah..I'm eating the chicken bologna
Posted by godleeluv, Tue Jan-19-16 09:42 PM
And the brand I use has the string.

I was so mad when I fried it with the string and then peeled the string off after and all the crispy was gone.

Like I almost cried and refried.

But instead I just ate it sadly.

Today was perfect tho.
