I guess part of what's so upsetting about this (to me anyway) is that dude complied. There just isn't anything noble in that I guess and at the very least fighting to protect your own win or lose is something worth fighting and dying for and yeah we all say that, but I think for a lot of us we mean it too.

That this man couldn't find it in himself to put his life on the line for his own kid(s) is all the more bothersome and to think how he must be feeling -- this whole thing is just awful.
