Especially the end. Naturally it looks amazing next to what passes for "battle rap" now but ... still, in the pantheon of the great 80s 90s and early 00s diss tracks, Hit Em Up is near bottom for me. Seriously.

But yea - like you said, he gets by on his passion for this track. And honestly I think that's how his *career* gets by, other than the martyr thing. I mean I love Pac, I really do. But lyrically he's nowhere near where people used to place him for the years immediately proceeding his death.
