When engaging with a Realtor...depending on if you are buying or selling or renting or whatever

The Realtor has access to more resources then the buyer. Yes you can look on zillow et al, and they have a bunch of properties but they dont have them all.

If youre the buyer agent, that Realtor doesnt get paid by the client at all. Buyer agent invests their time and effort into making a deal that must be signed off on by all parties...its much more than salesmanship

If youre the listing agent you love sites like Zillow because you dont have to split your commission with anyone

But that listing agents client is the homeowner. Who is taking care of the buyers interest in the deal? Can the buyer read all the contracts and do his research to know what it all means, sure. But having a pro on your side, about your interests... Is good to have

Personally I do zero marketing. My clients find me by word of mouth, and I do nothing but buyers. Thus isn't abt sales for me its abt finding the right house for the client that they love. The money will take care of itself

But thats just me tho. Couple years in...no complaints yet

Maybe we need a ask a Realtor post

does it really matter?

wonder what bin's doing?
