for MOST industries NY is more competitive than anywhere else
besides the sheer NUMBER of people here, this city also attracts the best and brightest, unlike other big cities that are just...big.

i don't think people who fail out here would nec. "make it" other places
but if you can make it here, most other cities should be a cakewalk for you
