Broke a 10,000 yen bill in a change machine and walked off to play my arcade games-- within seconds a Japanese dude tapped me on the shoulder to point me back to the machine to get the other 9 or so bills still sitting in the change machine. 10k yen is about a hundred US and that arcade was crowded with dudes. Several were just standing around the change machine waiting for me to come get my change so they could break their coins or bills.

In Seoul I got lost trying to find my hotel after already having had a serious misadventure getting to the US embassy (damn cabbie took me to the MBC broadcasting building). Anyway I'm standing out on the sidewalk looking dazed and confused when a total stranger just walks up and asks if I need help. Dude ended up showing me to my hotel and he and his girl were hanging out with me for the three days I was there.
