i always stopped watching after the
guy dies in the corn maze
the series was just so dark to me
after that
so anyway
my questions
what is a protronus?
and what is the significance that
snape and lily potter had the same image?

a patronus is a protective spell. it's basically casting a spell that will go out and fight for you. it tends to take the shape of a spirit animal and be tied to your personal history. ie harry's is his father as a horse (his father was an animagus who could turn into a horse).

James Potter could turn into a stag. He was the "Prongs" in "Moonie, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs" authors of the Marauder's Map.
Snape's was a doe in tribute to Lily, his childhood friend and love of his life
