Found out on FB some idiot emailed Timberland customer support to make sure the code was OK to use since they weren't an employee, and they got an email back saying they couldnt use the code, they were aware the code was being used by hundreds of people, and that all the orders using the code erroneously would be canceled....

Like others, I received an order confirmation via email, but when clicking the Order Status link and entering my order number and zip code, the status was "Cancelled." I didn't get any other updates about the cancellation, or any shipping notices, but my boots arrived on my doorstep today. Hopefully this bodes well for others.
