second, if my son was gay his running for prom queen wouldn't be as big a problem for me as it would the perception that his being gay may qualify him to share the same social space as a woman by default
now if there's a reason for his madness, like the article states, then I'd be all for it
but I would certainly talk to him and have an understanding about why he'd do it, which I'd hope anyone would for anything their child pursues
